Watch Information:

A symbol of ingenious elegance from the 1920s to the 1950s, the Movado Ermeto redefined the watch object by merging the pocket watch and the travel clock.

The name "Ermeto" comes from the Greek hermetos, meaning "sealed" or "hermetic," emphasizing the exceptional protection offered by its sliding case.

The Ermeto stands out with its rectangular sliding case, often covered in leather (crocodile, lizard) or silver. Its originality lies in its opening mechanism: by separating the two flaps of the case to read the time, you activate a rack-and-pinion winding system.

Each opening and closing of the case recharges the power reserve. Approximately 20 manipulations are usually enough to fully wind the movement.

To learn more about the history of Movado, we invite you to read our article on the subject: the history of Movado.
